cheap bike computer

anyone been shopping for a computer lately?

 

 

 

is there still such a thing as a cheap and reliable computer around?

BASIC and you wont beat it, have them on road and Mtb. Cateye Velo8. Functions: Time, Distance, Odo, avg, max, and cal. I think they bout R199 these days. I swear by mine.

Just bought two Serfas level 2 cycling computers from Wesdene Cycles in JHBfor R150 each. 9 Function. They do speed and cadence as well. Used it on my mountain bike and have put a second one on my road bike. Very reliable.

As far as the cheap ones go, only the Velo8 measures the speed accurately at speed > 40km/h.  So if you're on a road bike don't get any of the other junk.

Agree on Cateye. Really happy with mine and could not believe what an upgrade it was from my RavX one.

 

I got the model with cadence - too lazy too look it up.

thanks, saw the velo 8 but ended up getting a sigma (only because I wanted a stem mount)

 

 

 

hope it keeps the average accurate to about 23kph smiley17.gif
