Slowbee Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 ok so wikipead'ed spambot. but how does it work in reality ... if it is a program how does it register itself - surely you need someone to enter names ?
Napalm Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The simplest solution would be to not allow newbies to post in any forum except for a newbies section. After 10 post they can post in other sections.
Tumbleweed Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Let them stare at Holy's arse like the rest of us have to. you stare at it?i'm flattered?

Since it's automated, it might be worth adding a hidden field to the registration process. Since the spambot automatically fills in a form, any application with the hidden field checked is simply discardd.

Jackes Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Is this also "spam" or what is my problem ? My hotmail account has "automated vacation replies" that each time I log in there is some sales crap in it and it is on, sending it to everyone in my mail contacts. I deleted and deactivate it each time but next time I log in there is some other stuff activated on it again. Anyone with an idea to how to sort this out please ?
Napalm Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Jackes, I would start off with a virus & malware scan on your pc, then change the password once that's done
Slowbee Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 are the free malware and virus software programs worth installing ?
