Liners work well, touch wood, not one puncture off-road since I've been using them.. on the road however I've picked up a few punctures due the fact that I was hopping pavements, which I discovered was actually causing the liners to pinch the tyres

Sealant filled tubes AND liners are like wearing suspenders with a belt. No need for liners, just sealant (Slim?e is a trademark and not all tubes are filled with it) filled tubes.

rd liners don't work... but would have been nice yesterday out on the road two punctures one tube...you do that math...

Agree fitted on a road bike they suck. scotty2010-01-11 02:10:26

with the amount of glass and other crap on the sides of our roads, liners for me are a must. I'd rather the extra 50grams than spending 15minutes changing tubes in a race.

I feel/felt the same way. I had tyre liners in and only ever had 2 punctures due to the tubes perishing. New tubes were fitted and never had a problem.

Then I got new tyres for the bike (perished as well) and struggled to fit the liners. I left them off (do not cope well with frustration) and so far so marvellous. Bike feels a bit better without the liners, but that could be put down to my imagination.

Definitely not worth it for roadies. I got tons of punctures when I used to use them. Eventually I figured out it was the liners pinching the tube where the two ends of the strip met.

The RavX rep (Karl) use to be neighbour and we chatted one day about liners: pros; cons; etc

He pointed out that they stretch over time and one must religiously inspect them and trim them off a bit.

Most important, do not leave gaps as many hubbers will have found this causes the dreaded pinch.

Karl use to ride tandem on the R44 and swears by the liners. Not because its his product, but how they save you time on the road.

Personally I use OKO in my tubes.
