You can also hook up with the Edenglen cyclists, they meet 6am Karaglen Shopping center

Finsih Line also have regular rides starting from their shop in Glen Marais kempton park

thanks holy roller i'll have to have a look see if i can find it.....

scotty thanks i have been planning on joining the edenvale peddlers at the end of the month.. its just i'm not sure my partner in crime can cope just yet with group rides.. as i said she's a complete novice and needs to work on her bike confidence first.... she ride uphills faster than she does down at the moment..... so i'm looking for a dirt track somewhere just to get her out and on the saddle....

Not that it makes much difference to your reasoning, but it's worth noting that Edenglen Cycling (the club Scotty mentioned) is not the same as Edenvale Peddlers.

Not that I know much about either, but I do know the Edenglen Cycling have weekly group mtb rides is the edenvale area. Not sure if Edenvale Peddlers do, when I was looking at joining them (admittedly, many years ago), they were a road only outfit.

As I said, probably not an overly important detail, but a detail nevertheless.

As the above-mentioned partner in crime i would like to put up in my defense that i haven't been on any form of bike since i was 14. im now older so i have to regain the daring confidence i had. also the bike in question was a size or two too big and it was a road bike... i now have a beautiful all terra MTB and the fitness level of a sloth. i do however find a dirt road a wee bit better than a tar road, so if anyone can point me in the direction of one i would be greatful. also does anyone have the edeglen pedalers club contact details?

Before moving to CT SeanMort talked about a group going into the Modderfontein nature reserve. Does anyone know if that is still going?

The last time I tried riding there the Gautrain construction works seemed to have spoiled the landscape. I'm not sure what it looks like 2 years later though. The guards wouldn't let you into the reserve itself though, so a hole in the fence had to be found, and we never quite found the right one LOL There are quite a few members of Team Edenglen that meet up on Saturdays and ride the single tracks in the Sizwe/Linksfield area, and then out behind Eastleigh towards and around Modderfontein and back. PM hubbers CAAD4 or laulil though, as they are part of this group.
