Weight Weenie Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Hi Guys For those in Pretoria, Singletrack MTB shop has rides every saturday from their shop in the Hazeldean Centre ( on Lynnwood road next to Silver Lakes) 06h00 in the summer and 0700 in winter. There are usually faster/slower groups and varying distances ie. 30, 60, 90km and a coffee ride for the chill/beginners. Rides are usually as fast as the slowest rider and no-one will be dropped. So feel free to join, the more the merrier ! I'd like to see some of the faster guys join us so we can get some fast groups going as well, for the more race orientated/fit riders. Cheers,WW. Weight Weenie Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Depends, last time we rode at about 20kph, about 3 hours for the 60km. At that pace all the guys could keep up. My problem here is I need some faster guys to train with. This speed is not slow enough for me I think for Base, but neither fast enough for good training of speed/strength. Last weekend we hooked up with some other guys riding the same route and rode about the same route in 2h30, so that was a bit better.

Weight Weenie Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 from the shop to silver lakes into a local farm then onto the railway service road then we get onto delmas road for some tar, left at the chicken farm down towards leribisi lodge/garsfontein road then link with atterbury then back to the shop via hans strijdom ?

The only problem is that I've ridden a grand total of 3 times in the past 3 weeks, and these guys are going to ride fast, I think they're training for the epic... Oh well. I'll just try hang on the back.
