sign-up%20logo.jpgAbout Sign-Up Cyclists Safety Initiative

The Sign-Up Cyclists Safety Initiative is raising funds to create awareness for cyclists safety. The first part of the initiative is to erect regulatory warning sign W309 on the most popular training routes as well Cycle Safe Routes to School across South Africa. To date over 50 signs have been erected along the Lido Loop training route south of Johannesburg. Within the next couple of weeks, we will be erecting over 40 signs along the Cradle of Humankind route which starts at the Broadacres shopping centre and heads towards the Lion Park and back. Permission has been received from Gauteng Roads & Traffic Maintenance whom, thus far, has erected these signs on our behalf. A 1500mm sign costs R590 including brackets and a pole.

Come on you hubbers from KZN - wherever you are hiding......- We also need these signs....I went for a cycle yesterday pm and started to get the feeling that the word Stop meant Go as three cars raced straight thru these stop streets whilst I had to do some serious breaking to avoid meeting them "by accident"  - at the speeds they were travelling, i doubt they would have even noticed the "bang".... Angry

ShaunH - pls pm me those bib/shirt details - have a request for details from keen sponsor...

Can't we get Andrew or Arnold Geerts to have an interview with Shaun?

Maybe such exposure can create more support?  Andrew does post from time to time. There are quite a lot of cyclist enjoying Supercycling who are not Hub participants or lurkers.

Regards,

Kinnie
