Guest Agteros Posted March 15, 2010 Share Gels is a high octane fuel. The moment you start taking it, you better carry on till the end of the event. I start 15 minutes before a race (in the pens), and then every 30 minutes after that, and I've not run out of energy for any race yet. Short races (<2 hours) you waste your money on gels. Remember that the moment you become hungry you've lost the fight against the bonk / hitting the wall. So treat you blood sugar levels like a babalaas (Vermy babalaas, bly gesuip). Same with blood sugar levels. Just keep on tanking up on the gels and drinks.
