Ok Guys n Dolls. Feedback on the outcome of this rather unhappy thread.

 

 

 

OUTSURANCE HAS PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTH IS!!

 

 

 

I sent the damage report and quote in yesterday morning and just spoke to the lady handling my claim. The claim will be paid out this morning!! I have been kept up to date via SMS of the progrees of the claim as well.

 

 

 

100% to Outsurance on this one!!! Yaaaay as Cat-i would say!

I have spent a full day trying to speak to somebody that can help me at Mango. To date I have spoken only to receptionists, answering machines and the likes. No joy what so ever!

Outsurance is great, my bike was stolen on a Friday and the money was in my account on the Wednesday morning and was able to race that Saturday.

I recon you are one of the lucky ones- with all these insurance companies you just do not know whether they are going to pay or not. Good for you.

HI Guys. It seems to me that having your bike insured is a must. How much do you guys pay and what does it cover? Does it cover in race and out of race accidents and then of course theft or are their different type of options available. Do I have to be aware of any traps?

Just switched from normal insurance which do not cover races to Cyclesure which covers races as well. Difference in premium is from R118 to R293pm (R40,000 cover)

Have just insured mine with Outsurance, my 2009 GT Av 1 is insured for R7000, my excess is R250 and my premium is R55. I insured more for the bike jacking aspect than anything else.  More details for Outsurance here:

I pay 355 for 50k with outsurance.

I insured both my road and Mtb. Replacement value for both in the region of 120K. Premium is R980.

 

Just ensure that you specify any single item valued over R1500, else you will only get R1500 no matter how much that single item cost. Bib shorts, R2400, specify! Get the picture.

I took out insurance on my bike at Outsurance about two hours ago. You guys got me convinced! R15K for R159

Havent claimd in 4 years, I'm getting R2400 back in June, Think I will use it to bribe the asessor and claim a new bike
