Hi everyone' date='

I can assure you that Seth Rotherham is not Cape Town's Favourite Son.

Shaun Oakes is.

I can also assure you that despite what my FB profile pic may tell you, I am indeed awesome.

Furthermore, I leaned back on my pedestal today and thought long and hard, and have decided to accept the challenge and go cycling this week. I will of course use this opportunity to debunk the myth that cycling is a difficult sport to master.

That is all.

See if you can go mountain biking, that actually may be worthwhile/enjoyable, there'd be people willing to take you too.

If you go out with the road smurfs, you'll probably get frustrated with learning what must match what, and what to shout at who, and average speeds and keeping up with the six guys on your left etc.

Shaun Oakes?s Summary

I've been involved with the internet since as far as I can remember, due to the fact that I don't have a good memory (I keep forgetting my parents' names) but also because I've been exposed to the online world since the 90's.

I'm pretty jacked up when it comes to Search Engines and the processes involved in achieving good rankings. I'm also a fairly decent writer, and I've been told that I'm quite a formidable force on the dancefloor.

Shaun Oakes?s Specialties:

My specialties would include the following - strong analytical skills, the ability to tell if someone is lying, vast seo knowledge, impeccable link building expertise, incredibly charming. I could also juggle at one point, but sadly this ability has deserted me.

When do you know you CAN cycle?

When someone else says it on your behalf!

BLIXEM! DAAI OU MAG MAAR FIETSRY!

Untill then: Shut the hell up!

someone once said  "Blixem daai ou mag maar val"  about me...

It's all quite funny actually. I read the original article with a smile taking it for a good tongue-in-cheek article. The majority of responses from people are in the extreme defensive. I understand that you love your sport as much as any other person loves theirs... but really.... smile and nod and move on. No point in inducing a heart attack Smile

Digging up details on the person borders on stalking ? Rather just go for a ride.

To the idiot that wrote the article. You are a bit of anal wart. Actually if I could swear on this site I would start with your mother. While you have the ability to do something but choose not to because you are a lazy piece of sh!t, there are people who would do the toughest stage of the Epic every day if it would get them out of their wheelchairs. I have a family member and 3 friends in wheelchairs and your article is nothing else than a desperate attempt to gain exposure as nobody knows who you are nor do we give a damn. Writing an article like this is bound to get reaction. It's very sad really. May you get your wish, get hit by a bus, land up in a wheelchair and then we chat and see what you would give to cycle.

Dear me, so much misplaced anger. Forum rage if you will.

Here is a a pictorial representation of BeeT's relationship with the point of Sean's article.

Have to give the guy props for posting on here.

As tongue in cheek as the article is, I don't think it carries it across though. Seth or an Andy Ellis standard of writer could do a far better job I reckon, that's just the way I see it though.

Some of the responses are pretty stupid though, the levels of aggro are mindblowing. Hope I never cross the path of any of them, on a bicycle or behind a steering wheel!
