Hi Hubbers,

 

I want to start a trend with all the cyclists that have lost there lives during this year.

 

The reason for this trend is as follows, later this year around October/November i will print out this trend and take it forward to CSA.  I will also try my best to circulate it to the various city councils (might need some assistance on this).  I will also contact the various cycling clubs around the area and notify them of the various danger zones. 

 

If you could add the following information:

 

name, surname, where the accident took place, approx time, city/province and date.

 

Hubbers, we need to start raising awareness on our own.  We can all bitch and moan among ourselves, nothing will be done if WE dont spread our concerns beyond this website.

maybe a suggestion would be to extend it to any serious instances, as a dangerous spot may not have claimed many lives, but may be more risky despite this.  I think if you focus on just deaths, its not going to give the true picture of the peril we face every day.

Fabulous initiative! I agree, there needs to be something done and we can help.

What about including, not just deaths, but also other accidents that were reported between cyclists and motorists?

I was not aware that Shaun already started this.  Let's keep this tread going anyway.  In the meantime I will make contact with Shaun and discuss this trend with him.

 

I like the idea of cycling accidents.

Why reinvent the wheel. (unless "hubbers" aren't "bookers". There is a FB page where any dangers or accidents or hot spots can be recorded.

 

Got to: VTC-SA Cyclists unite against reckless drivers and road dangers - there are over 400 members and this group works closely with Sign-Up.
