Giant would not let him ride any other road frame.

The clause in his contract was Apparently allowing Ullie to use anything that he feels would give him an advantage. But Giant would make sure that he never felt the need to replace his road frame.

His wheels and TT frame are a different matter though. Although, that was last year. This year he has yet to use anything any different.

The TT bike he used to use was a Walser. Most fantastic TT bikes ever (as used by nearly anyone good at TTing, team gerolsteiner, Lothar Leder, Karen Thurig and many more). Made in Switzerland and very expensive!

Lots of companies including Trek and Giant have tried to copy the Walser with varying degrees of success. Giant has now gotten it down to a point where Ullie is willing to ride the Giant TT bike instead of the Walser. It took them a while though.
