Here in Luxembourg we have the same thing,even special robots for cyclists.Bike lanes cover the whole city.

Having the same in this Country just wont work.

As motorists (especially taxi's) will just use the lane to drive in.

The only way to make the roads safer for everyone, is to educate people from the roots. And for people to respect life.

Where do you ride when you wan to come back? Or is it the Pied Piper's bike lanes, they lead you out of town never to return.

Here you have huge bumps (sorry very untechnical word) that demarcate the cycle lane and the car lane so the taxi's would lose half the undercarriage if they tried to drive over them.  The stupid part is you often share a bicycle lane with a bus!  If you have ever been at the mercy of a French bus driver you'll understand why I say it's stupid.
