I have noticed front brake cables routed on the outside of the fork arm and when i look at the manufacturers mountain bikes it's routed on the inside arm of the fork arm. I would think the inside cable route to be neater neater?

It all depends on the guide on the arch if there is one. The Fox ones are close to the inside so you should follow the shortest route. On the '09 and earlier RS forks the guide was actually at an angle to guide the hose to the outside.

I have tried both ways and the best has to be on the outside of the lowers on the fork. Reasons being if it isn't cable hit the tyre every time the shock compresses. Might just be because it is a 200mm fork.
