Garmin Edge 500 with SportTracks and Mapsource

Bit off topic but I did the 'open heart' surgery on my 305 with the 'intermitent, very that is, power off issue'.

 

The glue takes 24 hours to dry so will only try it next week. Holding thumbs!

What I have learned so far, if you are using version 6.15.11 of Mapsource - stick to it and DO NOT upgrade to 6.16.2! Reading your tracks becomes a nightmare because they deciced to change the default track colour and the active track to the exact same colour so there is no way to differentiate between tracks.

 

I am not very keen on version 3 of SportTrack either - a lot of the plug-ins that worked with 2.1 doesn't work unless you buy the full version 3. You are limited to the amount of equipment, exporting etc.

 

Problem being that 2.1 doesn't import .FIT files. So you need to choose if you want to keep the functionality of your plug ins and follow the long rout of importing .FIT files, or give up your plug ins and have a easier import.

 

Im not ready to give up those plug ins yet, so I am sticking with 2.1
