You should all go ride your bikes instead of whingeing like this. But please, only on cycle paths, minor roads, and in shopping centre parking lots.

 

Question: which is / would be safer - riding Main Road with cars squeezing past (eg around Diep River) or if (in theory) you could ride the wide shoulder of the M3? This WITHOUT getting into the IT'S NOT LEGAL ETC debate.

 

Anyway, the laws were written back in the days of the ossewa. Isn't it time they were updated?

Then my question is DO you report the trucks and taxis? Or don't you care that all breaks loose with them?

 

Why do cyclist target cyclist...and then pretent to want to do good.....

 

If you want to make a change then report Taxis, busses, truck everyone....but no you report the "soft targers"

 

 

Once again i say let people who are dumb enough to do this type of thing on a national road (where absolutly no motorist will ever expect a cyclist to be), train there, I have no problem with the busses and the Taxi's eliminating their dumb @sses from the gene pool.

is this still going on? stop moaning about where they train, its their choice to break the law. Let them be...

indeed we could leave this and let it be, however the resultant backlash is going to be immense. I do not deny that there are few places to train on the road, however i would rate a freeway onramp and offramp as possibly the most dangerous places to be on a bicycle - especially with the inconsiderate/arrogant drivers we have.

 

To add to my frustration, coming back from the south coast today, on the other side of the N3 freeway (between pennington and scottburgh) I passed a group of about 20+ odd cyclists all with blue tops (and one guy with a white supersport top) and the trailing car warning "caution cyclists" - I imagine this is supercycling club???. Anyway, the really frustrating thing is that a truck decided it was not to safe to drive past them as they had taken up the entire emergency lane, so the truck moved into the fast lane and caused a jam up of cars while we all passed them. Sure, I relaxed and drove past them, but there are going to be some people who will not be so tolerant.

 

Mark my words, before long we will have every tom dick and harry out there training on the freeway, and someone will get injured or worse.
