crack i do beleive you might have an odd shaped head bwahahah. Bell solar works good for me.

I dont think ive got an odd shaped head(while he check in the mirror, not all seems fine to me) My mother did say she dropped me on my head a few times when i was a kid  . It may explain a few things. They didnt have the full range of Bell Helmets to try on, so ill go after my ride tommorow to look at others, Im not dismissing the bells at at, they will all go through my rigourus consumer testing. Every helmet if I have to <_< Funny how some helmets I needed a large, others a medium, wierd(maybe I do have a funny shaped head :P )

MET Kaos UL - anyone got this helmet looks the bomb, ticks all the right boxes, and only R930.

I have the MET Kaos in matt black. Only had it a week so far. Very comfortable.

Where did u get it from? do you know if the are agents or shops in SA that do them  I tried a met yesterday and they are by far the most comfortable helmet out there(in my opinion, based on what Ive tried thus far) :D

I am in Jhb so my LBS is too far for you.

I also bought the Mythos for my girlfriend and she seems happy with it

There is something that has not been directly mentioned yet, which I think is important - the design and quality of the retention system (i.e straps and fastener), and it's adjustability.

Not only does this factor contribute to comfort, but also to keeping the thing on your noggin when it all goes wrong.

My view is that the 'better' helmets are likely to be superior on this score than cheaper helmets.

I have a Bell Ghisallo and really value the ability to easily adjust the fit whilst I'm riding

Not sure that would ever be a factor for me, once its on, it on. Comfort wise from what Ive tried on so far, the MET is hands down the most comfortable for me. ;)

Seen Bell, Giro, Specialised and Met mentioned here...want to throw another one in - Rudy Project and specifically the new Rudy Project Sterling helmet - best helmet I ever owned when I take the following into account. I do not see too many of these on the road and was wondering if any other Rudy helmet owners are happy with them too?

Comfort (padding is out of this world with extra bug net and extra set of padding) - removable and washable

Easy to adjust - dial on the back can be adjusted easily on your bike

Lots of vents

Weight: very light

Crash Replacement Policy - 65% discount on RRP - you never know...

Cool eyewear dock system - so simple but so useful!!

Price - I paid approx R1600 incl

I haven't crashed with it yet but it has 4 different safety certificates...

Sorry if it sounded harsh, didnt want or mean to offend you or anyone, just dont like there stuff. There are probably personal reasons. I just think its overpriced and well over-hyped just cause its Italian. I dont get it, there marketing irratates the hell out me too. But each to there own though.

Tried on a Rudy Project in the LBS the other day and it was amazingly comfortable! The comfort however could not justify the price. :(
