I would like to use a DA7900 cassette with my sram red group.

 

Is the cassette compatible?

Yes... if i remember correctly, lance ran dura ace cassette and chain on his SRam for i while as he didnt like the noisy RED casstte...

Yip - it'll work... I've got Shimano cassette on my training wheels, and SRAM on my rcing wheels... no hassles what-so-ever when interchanging wheels...

The only parts that are not compatable between Red and Dura Ace are the shifters and derailures. Shimano and Sram use different pull ratios

Does anyone know if you can use a Campy Record Cassette with Sram Red or Dura Ace for that matter?

As far as I know, you can. Although the width is a little bit different. I've heard of some people picking up problems, but mostly guys says it work.

 

I have a 105 casette which I'll put on my other set of wheels this week and I use record on the bike.

I found this article that details a minuscule difference in the the cassette spacing. So I could possible do it, with the aid of some 105 spacers in the non-riveted cogs to slim the cassette down...

 

It should only be a temporary measure for this weekend.

Long as you can get to the 11. I think that one will get some use tomorrow.

hahahaa, this morning I couldn't use my 11 as the lockring is incorrect. Will have to get the new one next week. I will ride the campy wheel later today to see if it works.

 

That 11 will definitely see some use tomorrow!
