Twice while in my 20's I've had to go on a special "diet" to put on weight. Once was for Amateur horse racing, I weighed almost the same as the pro jockey's and had to put on 2kgs to be allowed to race as an ameteur. Was extremely hard!!! Other time was when my doc put me on a wheat, sugar, dairy free diet for my sinus and I started looking anerexic. Had to supplement with shakes inbetween meals.

Then I fell pregnant. Although I cycled up till 6 1/2 months, I put on 12kgs. 2 1/4 years later I've only lost 3 of those and thats with trying to eat a healthy diet, not binge on burgers, chocolate etc :-(

How things change.....

Just saw a pic of a friend of mine at his matric farewell, skinny. Now , 20 years later he is overweight , smoking , drinking... sad! And I'm still looking more or less the same.

Just something i have observed (perhaps incorrectly). I'v been out of school 17 years, and the guys that were really tallented sportsman at school have all packed on weight. Alot of the guys that were either average, or not sportsman are now fitter, and cyling/mtb/kite surfing...

Yep. I hated sport at school - sucked at nearly everything. All I wanted to do was bodyboard and ride my bike.

Later on in std. 9 and 10 I played some table tennis, and enjoyed moderate success within the lunch break league. That was the apex of my adolescent sporting achievements.
