I used creatine for a year or so and honestly can't say that I had any side effects. I can say that I had a lot more power when using the creatine (whether this was psychological or physiological I don't know). Using creatine in conjunction with a controlled diet and lots of weight training and cardio, I lost a lot of body fat, toned very nicely and managed to avoid injury. I found that I recovered quicker from heavy training as well.

I wouldn't recommend using it too extensively if you are into endurance type sports because it does bulk you up a bit, but I found that especially USN's Creatine X4 worked really well for me.

i also had good results from it, stronger-quicker type of results.

only took creatine after workouts, rides on the bike.

but the powder tht doesnt dissolve bothers me a bit.. im sure tht stuff goes and sits in the kidneys doing more harm than good.

but like the others mention.. good diet.. problem is.. dieting is a pain in the arse to be honest.

being a single guy, having alot of fresh stuff in the fridge is costly because the stuff goes off quick quick.

and at work i cannot conjure up these great balanced meals because of time constraints.

and i dont want to spend more time in the kitchen than on the bike.

i know there are simplistic meals you can fix, but they get boring after a couple of weeks and tastes like crap after a while.

thus the relatively balanced diet and supplementation... but there are always pros and cons.. was just curious on the cons of creatine ;)

I dont think I could eat any more healthy if I tried, but I dont want to eat a lot of meat(my body no longer agrees with it too much, I was a veggie for 8 years, and also I dont digest it very well). My mate who works for Muscle Science(he is a MTBer as well) is trying to sell me a product http://muscleworks.co.za/?page_id=1066 but it contains a small amount of creatine though, so not keen at all. I just need some extra va va voom for my training, as Im feeling very flat at the moment.

How & where would I get my Iron levels checked? Im training on the spinning bike for an hr in the morning and then an hr at the gym in the evening - Light weights, cardio & core training. Not over doing it by any means.

You would have to have bloods done, I don't know if they can test that from a pinprick, but it will be well worth it.

We don't know this or shall I say we become rather blaze about our testosterone levels as well, but mots men nowadays have low levels of testosterone, they reckon it could have to do wit the fact that men groom themselves more than in the past and some of the stuff we use contains tea tree oil and excessive use of this can cause a drop in testosterone amongst other things, there are other reasons as well.

A good magnesium supplement also goes a long way.

Ive been looking at this myself/or should I rather say ive read articles about it lately , no sure how you would go about increasing your levels though. I have seen supplements for them, but I think its something that needs to come from your GP, can they test that too? The magnesium supplements Ive been meaning to get.

When you ask for the tests ask them to test for everything.

USN Testo Methox can be bought off the shelf.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but having been out the country for so long, where would I go for blood tests to check for everything, and what should it cost me?
