  1. ultimately yopu just want your chainline to be as straight as possible, how you achieve that "safely" you should be good, i wouldnt space between the crank and chainring though, but moving out outward of the mounting holes should be cool
  2. i have seen others do exactly that
  3. very lekker guys!! jeepers creepers, i am getting better with the printing aspects, but i realize i am now at the point where i need to learn how to draw things... i saw fusion 360 and 123d drawing.. i think its a good starting point for a nobody like me. sorry i only saw the replies to my comment on my prusa built... apologies i should have specified its a prusa-like kit (those ones being sold by most shops based on the prusa design) , in the meantime i bought a wanhao duplicator 6+ and a flashforge adv 3 they print extremely well, but now i need to learn to draw my own stuffies... i take my hat off for you guys that are capable of drawing your own stuff already.
  4. 12speed is much more affordable nowadays...perhaps go that route once your new casette is worn out
  5. I used to ride 11-46 10spd. Works great. Went 12 speed and it fills the gaps much better between the ratios. But it is definitely hepful having those low range gears. Whereabouts do you stay? Then i can borrow you my 10speed casette to see how it feels
  6. I have assembled my prusa mk3 kit, still need to connect, calibrate etc.... but very hopeful that i will be able to figure out niggles easily.
  7. lekker that sounds positive!! thanks guys! I will see if i can speak to someone at customs when i am in Paraguay after the corona nonsense. then just clarify. Maybe that classification is for bicycles with a motor attached (moped, scooter etc). I see on other country vehicle classification they also refer to them as bicycle (motorised), so perhaps this one is cut off on the *(bicycle...) my bikes aren't worth selling over here (no value) but have a much higher value to me , and could potentially sell some of them over there if i need cash. BTW i am also moving with a container or "moving cube" depending on the amount of space i need
  8. ah thanks for that, I am planning on going to Paraguay solo, so it might be hard to justify "all the bikes and stuff" It will be tax exempt since i will be moving there. I am scared to say i will be running a small bike repair shop with stuff i am bringing into the country, so i suspect i will have to sound like a serious bike collector other option is to take a bike with me each time i travel there, but i suspect i will still have a hard time taking my spares over. will be ideal if i could take the bikes and spares over oneshot since i will be paying premium. shipping company: "HI Renier, Do you have proof of purchase invoices for the bikes?"
  9. HI clever people, I have a couple of bicycles built up over the years, and i am in the process of moving abroad. I am planning on taking 4 or 5 bikes with me, as well as my tools and spares. However i will have to prove that the items are indeed mine and not stolen. I bought all of my stuff second hand (no receipts) ... how do i prove to Immigration(customs) that i am not a thief? my bank statements are not very descriptive regarding my purchases, mainly the name of people and the amount. i am unsure how to tackle this problem? any suggestions?
  10. Send me a pm. Maybe i can swop wheels with you
  11. Mothertrucker glad you are unharmed.....blood boiling
  12. holding thumbs for a successful prosecution. thanks all involved.
  13. Its an expensive endeavor. When i was still planning on going to aus i decided to put my bikes in a container (boxed). Works out cheaper for the volume. A courier company costs 12k easy per bike boks when i asked a year ago.
  14. Was a wet amd muddy race..... rode 3hrs longer than last year. Am knackered .my cheap blue poncho saved my bacon....would've had hyperthermia without it for sure.
  15. This year im wearing my giro flats for the walking bits...much easier on the calves
  16. Sat next to Ruan Bester on the flight down. Nice guy.

  21. over the weekend i decided to not attend this event, my legs are still sore from this past weekend's 80km wtf event, think the 140km will not go too well so soon after.
  22. yes i sent them a message on WA, still waiting for a reply Thought i could clap a lift and rather contribute to someone else's pocket if possible bit of a mad scramble since my plans fell through this morning with my friend that need to travel for business that time.
