Ok...I know there is posts about cramps and stuff...

 

This morning I went for a nice training cycle, as I went up helshoogte my calves and upper legs cramped! This was basically my first ever cramps and I got it in both legs....

 

What could be the cause of this??

i used to get cramps ,i now use magnesium(slow mag) Dischem i find are the cheapest (there brand) i take two a day and a week before races i take 2 in the morning and 2 in the night

I agree with the monster. I tried all the crap out there and nothing helped.I joined a club and started training longer and harder and don't get many cramps any more.

Usually you will get cramps if you are riding much fiercer or much further than you are used to.

 

I've tried Mg supplements, but honestly, the best option is training right.

 

I normally do 100km+ on weekends...the cramps started after like 35km...

 

Will try the slowmag, think I have a magnesium shortage :)

Cramps can be due to nerve firing causing tetanus. So make sure you stretch dynamically beforehand. Drinking tonic water before activity will aid in the magnesium issue. I dont think the gin will help though
