Found the OIZ last week!! Woohoo!!

A certain gentleman brought it to Penford Cycles wanting a few things done, including the fitting of standard pedals....

I went into the shop on Saturday and Steve asked about about the bike that was stolen. I described it to him, and wonder of wonders, he takes me by the arm and leads me to the bike! What a victory. He had suspected that it may be stolen and stalled the quote/ repair process. Thanks Steve!

Police have taken it as evidence as the aforesaid gent was decent enough to supply his contact details. Hopefully justice will be done.....

I'ts clearly had a hard last few months, but a new chain and cassette, some tyres and a service, and she'll be good to go.

No insurance, so it's mine!

I am also glad that there is a link from the "owner" to who ever he bought it from....

Let's hope SAPS does their bit properly....

Awesome news   , did you manage to get any more info? Do they think that the chap that brought it into the shop is the guy that kniched it? Second case now of this happening, at least you got yours back.

Just shows how dodgy the other story was.

It's more likely that the guy who brought it into the shop is an unsuspecting buyer who got the bike at a good price from the thief or his friends.

Still, it should be possible for the police to track down the thief via that guy.
