Just compare price-wise on CRC and then you will get an idea.

But nothing wrong with Shimano XT, except their proprietary brake fluid.

Absolutely no need for the proprietary barke fluid...as long as it's mineral oil!!

I have only good experiences with my XT brake set...no need to compare it to anything.

I've also been looking at getting a new brakeset and I ended up choosing between the XT's and the Avid Elixir R's. They both seem to be great brakes. After speaking to a few mates I ended up going for the XT's. Should be arriving this week!

Thanks Guys, basically all I needed to hear. lol.

I have XT brakes which seem good but definitely not one touch braking and have had a few occasions where they need to be re-bled

just for kicks am going to try avid elixer CR apparently a little more adjustable and you can set the bite point, same price as XT

My rear XT caliper has a tiny leak but they are 3 years old and I ride 3-4 time a week

but in that category XT or Elixer I dont think you can go wrong
