the laps are relatively short, but it's got nice singlestrack, and a decent variety of trails. the hills are short, but there are one or two really nice technical climbs to test you. i love riding there.

They have added a lot of new single track . Just follow the signs . There are one or two trials that are not so well marked so be on the lookout . There are only two little hills , one being rocky and a very good test of your climbing skills and the other one is just an uphill smiley2.gif .

I need something a bit more challenging than Northern Farms.....

I still love Northerns thoughThumbs%20Up...... It's more convenient and closer to me.

With some creativity you can make groenkloof a very technical ride, with  drops to trannys, skinny riding(4x4 section but who cares), etc etc some of the hiking trails can be quite fun as well. Just go explore

just don't go there after/on a holiday weekend. last time i tried to get into fountains, they turned me away cos the place was full of broken glass!

daemon, you ridden those jumps?

don't encourage people to ride the hiking trails (although the short descent from the topmost viewpoint on the first hill is real funWink). when i met michh at groenies a coupla weeks back i bragged about dropping down one of the hiking trails at suikerbos. unbeknowst to me, one of her mates that was there worked for the parks departmentShockedand she raised her eyebrows big time and wagged her finger at me.

has anyone heard the rumour that they're considering closing it to the public cos they want to introduce sensitive wildlife into the reserve?

HEhehe...yes kids don't do it...if your going to get caught ;)

Suikerbos or groenkloof? They are creating new singletrack at Groenkloof so doubt they will close it to the public.

suikerbos. i rode there in the morning before meeting michh in the arfie in groenkloof. at suikerbos there's a beaut, but seriously technical (lost count of how many times i fell), downhill hiking trail, which links up with the "big hill". apparently, the dude in charge of the place is rather uptight and doesn't really like cyclists, even though they're his bread and butter
