82km with 1800m climbing is very similar to the Mazda marathons, Giants Castle, etc. I'm sure we'll survive, because in Sabie, what goes up must come down!

mrmed, you right except ................................. you will have done 78k's the day before with also 1800m of cllimbing and then the yet to be shown days 3 and 4 to go!

On the other hand yip all roads out of Sabie lead up luckily so you normally have much more down coming back (sometimes you may however not think so!)

I know, but I can't let this scare me. I've seen some Epic profiles and there's 3000m+ of climbing on day 2 (brokeback mountain!) with 146km+ to come the next day.

We'll see you at the pre-ride.

I'm still considering whether to do the pre-ride or not.

On the one hand, I like to know what I've let myself in for, on the other, I'd don't want to spoil the surprise.

Decisions......decisions.......decisions

don't be sentimental about it ... saw Epic profiles for the first 4 days 2008 ... if u doing Epic you gonna need every minute of climbing training you can get
