So having had the loveliest machine built I had an opportunity to take her for a spin on the mountain.  Absolutely amazing, what a ride.  Despite the stray dogs chasing me all over, the questionable ride through a forgotten cemetery and generally getting lost somewhere on the kuramangazy plateau it was schweet.

oh and I found some designer mud for my lady, but this was the cemetery trail, complete with dog to chase you down the crumbling staircase

Missed this post. Glad you're enjoying the new bike!

What lessons you learn from me....?

Here's what my bike currently looks like. Mine was one of a batch with bad paint that was brittle and prone to chipping. Titus offered to repaint, including paying shipping to and from the US but I didn't wanna be without the bike for a couple weeks.

They said I could send it in when it suited me but I reckon 18 months is a bit long to be expecting a warranty paintjob. Besides, paint will just chip and scratch anyway.

Will ride it like this for a while and then decide whether to anodise or just put a clearcoat over it.

Minty, why not just polish it nice and bright or just give it a brush finish with some steel wool.

Nice bike torro. Interesting to see the Marzochi fork on there.

It is brush finish. Used a sort of heavy duty scouring pad. Can do with some more work but not going to kill myself polishing it now if I'm going to ano it later.

Marzocchis are so scarce around here....pity

Pepper Mint' date=' so are Marzochi good forks? Because Bikehut has got these http://www.bikehut.co.za/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=278 [/quote']

Marzocchi are, in my humble and unbiased view, the best things out there. Not the lightest, but definitely unbelievable in performance.  And they have a deservedly strong reputation.  I got mine from chain reaction on sale.  It was a steal for about GBP200.

Minty, the lessons learned from you is actually just one: always post pics of your bike, often, whether relevant or not ;-)

Nice carpet. Is it Persian?!!

BTW' date=' nice bike too!!!!!

Carpet Persian?? Hmmmm, I doubt it.  This place is almost as bad as bangkok for rip-off items.  You can (seriously) by anything at the market.  All you do is ask the driver to take you.

Haha....yes well I've calmed down quite a bit LOL

Mampara....what ST said. I had the odd short ride on them and they feel awesome! Have a few friends overseas riding them and they all swear by them...(Although one just switched from a Marz Bomber to a Fox 36 on his Turner RFX and says the 08 Fox is a big improvement over his 05 or 06 Zoke)

Buddy in Spain says that at the bikeparks in Europe that's ALL the guys ride....yuo hardly see a Manipoo, Rock Shox or Fox
