Based on the first feature - blue tint - they'll sell extremely well in Durban.

Based on the super heavy lead-acid battery, you won't sell any to people on this group. They weigh eveything.

There you have it, less than a 50/50 chance that your light will sell.

It's all about the target market.  Chat to Kevin Vermaak or the Cape Epic webmaster.  Those guys train some pretty weird hours and I'm sure they won't worry about the weight if the product works and stays on the bike.

Battery run time 2 hours is enough for a casual ride but anything longer you have a problem, carrying a spare one at that weight is not an option. The charge time is also very lengthy.

Those lead acid bats weigh a ton.

Up to 2 hours ride time means 2 hours while running the 5 watt light, if you run the 10 watt or both together you will probably only get about 1 hour out, or less, not nearly good enough, and you dont want to carry two batteries with this thing.

May be worth buying for the lights and putting a new battery on, in my mind not worth the effort.

This is old technology there is so much good lightweight new stuff out now. They probably cant give these away in the UK.

@ hours definitly will not do . Weight is not a problem , we are not bloody roadies !!! We got people with motorbike batteries in their backpack racing around in the dark ! For that price I will buy them just to get the light housings and fittings ! I am sure it will be easy to modify a nice green LED into thse lights .

I am seriously considering doing the 24 hour MTB race at Northern Farm so I have been looking at lights.  Obviously I don?t want do break the bank for one race.

They recommend a 10w light which basically gives you between 1 to 2 hours.   So what?s up, do you have to have 3 to 6 battery?s all charges up.

LCD lights have the battery live but not the wattage.  I currently have a really nice Black Diamond LCD head lamp but I doubt if that will be enough.  The other option is to ride until dark, have a good night?s sleep and restart at the crack of dawn but that would effectively be a 12hour race.Big%20smile<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

SO what do your guys suggest?.
