bored girl Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 i must say sorry....i was busy reading the arione topic when i decided to start this topic and didn't realise i was in the classifieds section.....oops
amoryns Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 BG, I had a lady specific saddle for a month...had to se a doctor because the saddle just didn't do my geometry any justice...had to stay off the bike for more than 3 weeks...so no I am back to a men specific saddle
Zoo Cookie Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 my budget did not allow me to go for the more expensive saddles so I settled for the RavX Venus. must say for me it was a huge improvement and I can now do a comfortable 3 hours +.
Cheryl J Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I've got a selle italia ldy gel on my road & mtb. They're great. Never tried specialised.
bored girl Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 So I did an hour last night with my new saddle. I do not think it is enough for me to make a statement but so far nothing to complain bout.....except that it's new and it's super smooth so I felt like I was sliding all over the place. Might play musical saddles and change it to the rd one for my first ride  on sat just to see how it behaves during a longer distance and more climbing....And then I think I might vote on my own poll
Cheryl J Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Um.. I just remembered , I tried a Fizik something or other (nizene?) that came with my second hand mtb. I tossed it after sliding around everywhere - non-ideal on my MTB!
Ratty Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Zoo Cookie, I've got the RavX Venus on my road bike at the moment. Its comfortable and I'm happy with it, but the speciliazed is just so much more comfortable and only R130 +- more!
Sammajoor Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 The missus rides with a Specialized mtb and road will ride with nothing else
Speed Devil Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I've got a Selle Italia SLR gel with carbon base and it rides like a dream. Â Choosing a saddle is like choosing a girlfriend.....do you go for comfort or or the hardest ride of your life?

I have never personally had to choose a girlfriend so I might not get that comparison too well
Tjokkits Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 woman specific saddles seem to be very bulky between the legs, dont work for me, i go on specialised avatar 155mm both road and mtb, after working through all the other major makes, except fizik
