What's that new Cyclelab like? I only had a gander before it was open.

Just had a call from Mark at Dunkeld Cycles, seems someone showed them the thread, Mark seems really keen to make this right. Seems they have gone a long way to make this right and keep a customer. Good on you guys

Guess I will be changing the thread name to Definitely using Dunkeld Cycles again.

Think I have said this before but, If I was a retailer involved in the cycling industry, I would be monitoring the Hub for potential gripes all the time. Quick intervention goes a long way to resolving an issue

My issue with your rant, andyr249, is that you expect a bunch of guys who run a LBS to be online all the time and get back to you in your timing of urgency. If you are wanting information and wanting it NOW, then pick up the phone. I have been in Dunkeld a LOT and they ALWAYS answer the phone when it rings... Just saying. They aren't an online help desk waiting to respond to every email that comes in. The fact is, it's less work for you to pop off an email than dial their number (which is 011 - 341 0627 by the way) and have to actually SPEAK to someone...

Where did I mention that I expected them to be online all the time? Where did I say I wanted the information NOW? Nowhere did I say either of that. The information was not urgent at all and a few days wait is no problem for me. But it is curteous to respond to customers' emails eventually. But almost two weeks with no response? As I mentioned, Northcliff Cycles responded after a few days which was fine because there was no rush but the important thing is that there did respond. As to the reason for email, please re-read my posts as you seemed to have overlooked a few sentences.

Besides, you are making a huge issue out of email vs phone when there is no reason to. Thanks for the phone number, I will write it down for future reference. Btw, if they didn't want email then why list the email addresses?

Its good they opened very quietly, i only found out they were opening when i went to the VA Gym. Young crowd, chatted to some sales staff and the mechanic who races also Elite and they appear enthusiastic. They have the usual range of bikes, GT, Trek, (nice range of 29 ers) and Merida and what they dont stock they will try obtain.

Prices vary some items cheaper than other shops some not.

Or just get a Blackberry! I am sorry but there is no excuse for not replying to emails within a few hours these days. I also like to have everything down on paper and then no-one has cause to argue.

I agree. One of my reasons as well. It can avoid a lot of trouble and wasted time later on.

By the way, I popped into Cyclelab yesterday. Nice enough shop. The youngsters working there were helpful and friendly.
