Cool phodies.

Jeez, that looks very complex. Where do you start? Is it possible to buy spokes with no thread and only thread it once you have completed Spidey's lair?

I thought you could thread them spokes. Living in the bush I thought one size long spoke and then thread teem. It cannot be done. The threads are rolled in with a expensive piece of machinery. I thought a good collet vice to hold the spoke would work but I could not find a die of the correct size.

Ja, been there, got a T-shirt in size XL for my efforts.

I even bought a Hozan spoke threader but it was a piece of rubbish. It can "Chase" threads but not roll new ones properly.

The thread is 2mm x 56 TPI, I don't even know if that is a standard engineering thread.

As far as I'm aware, you cannot buy blank spokes, not is ZA in anyway.

However, to cut and thread existing spokes (to a shorter length) can be done and there are such machines in ZA. The trick is to calculate the length you want though.

What if half the spoke was threaded?

It could then be cut to size.

How much would that really weaken the spokes?
