Dawie, if it is not a matt finish paint job, get some 1 step cutting polish from a car paint dealer. I removes quite deep scratches and marks/scuffs from cars. Its not too expensive. And/or some 3M Hand Glaze, a bit more expensive, though, and not as quick as the one step cutting polish. If the Hand Glaze don't work, the one step cutting polish would probably do the trick, and if that won't work.....then nothing will!!!

OK, the polish suggestion is similar to another I got. Will get some tomorrow.

What does concern me is that if the paint is staining like this, it is clearly going to happen again?

nah, bottle cage just didn't get any attention once the panic set in!

All the add-on bits came clean including my white Fizik Gobi seat. Frame, not so much.

Brasso works as a buffing compound.Put some on acloth and polish ,try in an area you cant see.We use it on varnish in furniture manufacturing,Iuse it on the white on my boat after a day on the dam. but what do morewood have to say?

Guys thank you all very much for the advice. I will be trying (most) all of them in the next couple of days.

I have emailed Morewood for some advice also. At the end of the day all I want is my Tighty Whitey back... :(

I will let you all know what they say.

Car polish FTW... remember that the paint will most probably have a clear coat so stay away from liquids that are corrosive. Try polishes and tooth pastes and brasso/silvo... do not use petrol/parrafin etc...

that red clay is tough though... good luck!

At the end of the day a good wash with anything should have taken those marks out. Looks like a Morewood problem. I would contact them before using something that mess up the waranty.

First try Doom or Target.

However "Power-Parafin" is the guaranteed answer.

Caution do not use tooth paste or brasso

From the sounds of it, there was no clear sprayed on. If you use a buffing/rubbing compound it should polish out, but you'd still need the clear finish. This is definitely a factory fault I reckon.

As far as I know morewood frames are powder coated. You generally do not put a clear coat on top of a powder coat finish, so I doubt that is the problem. Allthe other methods to clean it mentioned in this thread I am sure have a place somewhere, but I would not use ANY of them, you may cause further damage, think about it? using an abrasive product to remove mud from alluminium and paint? seriously stupid actually.

From what I have heard of the Morewood and Rush Sports people, you will have no problem with them and I am convinced that they will sort your problem out properly. Contact Andre from Rush Sports www.rushsports.co.za and let the manufacturers and agents get you sorted properly.
