You dirty little... (HELP!?)

A nice bit of honesty. I hope they sort it out quickly. I cannot imagine any half decent manufacturer would knowlingly ship a frame that stains like this. Even if Big H reckons white is a dumb colour.

Polishing won't solve the problem. A frame replacement will...

It will be a respray rather than a replacement. The problem only became apparent after the frames were already out there, so no foul on Morewood's part.

The proof of a great brand is not in the purchase, it is in the support.

Also, scott, no amount of spray and cook/silicon/Q20 sprayed on your bike can protect it if the paint hasn't been sealed.

(And I won't force BigH to ride my beautiful white bike.)

i don't know if this is a silly question. do they strip the bike completly of the old paint or just spray over? how much does a coat of paint weigh?

Today is a fantastic day! My baby has come back from Morewood all freshly powdercoated and basically brand new. (and to answer your question smiles, they strip it down to bare metal first)

The strength of a brand is not in the price but in the service, and on that basis all I can say is that buying this proudly South African product was a truly great experience.

Besides for the great service from Morewood, I also need to thank Andre from RushSports for managing the whole process, keeping me informed and amazingly, for shipping a Turner Flux up to me to use while I was waiting. A truly amazing experience and a fantastic credit to the industry!

Here's the sweet thing I got to play with for a weekend:

Sounds like they forgot to clear coat a batch of bikes. Silly mistake. I am sure the job has been re-done properly and well done to Morewood for taking it upon themselves to correct it. They shouold maybe also contact the other buyers to let them know now rather than later!

go buy some car polish, it must be the paste type not liquid. Also buy burnishing compound and mix it 50/50 polish the bike it will remove all the stains - 200 000 second hand car dealers can't be wrong

OK, the polish suggestion is similar to another I got. Will get some tomorrow.

What does concern me is that if the paint is staining like this, it is clearly going to happen again?

Didn't you get the memo about levitating over puddles? Duh!

:P

Just spotted you had it fixed! Awesome, and happy miles on the new steed!

If I recall it was a matt finish. Wouldn't burnishing compound leave a gloss finish?
