Find me tomorrow at 05h55 at the Graanendal Centre parking lot in a yellow yersey.

It promises to be a beautiful day for riding the iron horses.

Wheels roll and legs spin sharply at 06h00!

Phew!

The New Year's champagne is now out of the system with my 3 hr / 75 km / 850 m ascent solo ride.

It was laaik Col du Tourmalet, TdF 2010, going up Vissershok - very foggy and surreal.

Focused on strengthening my 'lazy' left leg, did some hill repeats and strategised my finishing tactics of this route.

Here is an image 15 kms from the finish of the 99er route - my carbon horse with some other horses on the plains of the scenic Durbanville Wine Route:

My energy is so much lower in da afternoon, S R... Prefer the crisp silence of the early morning ride.

I prefer the morning rides as well, but been struggling this last week, just getting out of bed has been a really tough ask. So, come rain or shine this afternoon, I have to get in a 70km MIN!!

When are you doing the Cobra Training Ride AGAIN!

I want to try and do the Journey For Sight route on Tuesday

If you intend to race this poisonous snake, you betta bring your Merida to come and assess it! :w00t:

Did Journey For Sight route this past Tue - and was blown away by The Cape Doctor.

I was there yesterday. Rode from S/West along R102 thru Dbnville, to do 3xrepeats of Vissershoek. Decided after 2xrepeats in the dense mist and cars zooming past me with no hard shoulder that i should quit while the going was good...felt a tad "exposed" with only a small Frog rear light !!!

Good call, HeadHunter...

It was pretty low viz out there.

Specifically, the narrow and steep Vissershok ascent.

I ended up doing repeats on a quieter road - Odendaals - where the 99er's final km is.

Welcome back to the beautiful Cape, Wannabe. :)

Thanks, can't wait to get back into training with you guys. Only managed about 300km of leisurely riding, while up country. At least I kept the legs going.
