hi guys,

quick question on Q20, I use it to lube small bits and pieces on my bike. If I spin my pedal it made no noise, give it a squirt of Q20 and spin it again, then out sounded as if it is grinding sand...

could it be that is draining away grease and leaving dirt?

q20 is not really a lube but more of a water repelent. I use Q20 to clean my chain, squirt it on to get dirt of and then wipe it and lube again

Q20 and WD40 are better at cleaning / prserving metal surfaces, as well as light lubricating/ releasing. dont spray it where there should be grease... it will wash the grease out and leave a grinding liquid!!

I also use Q20 type products for loosening and cleaning (flushing). Then I use 3 in 1 High Performance Lube (teflon) for chains and small parts - but it is difficult to find - the Wynn's equivalent is not as good. Aerosol grease also seems to work well for those difficult to get at parts. Motor spares shops generally have a range of products to try
