Hi Guys

All the best for 2011

I recently bought a bike (november) and what I have noticed is when using the front brake the wheel tends to pull to the left hand side??? Is this normal for disc brakes?? Im not keen on replacing hubs etc

Thanks

Even though the disk is offset, it still acts through the centre of the wheel onto the road. I cannot think of a single common reason why what you describe should happen. It puzzles me.

We do know that the fork slider does flex where the disk acts on it. We know this because of wear patterns on the stanchions. This is a very small movement though and I doubt you'd feel it in the steering. People with very large disks brake very hard and don't report that type of problem.

I've never felt a bike steer to one side under braking and would love the opportunity to experience it for myself. I see you're close to me.

1. Which side of the handle bar is the front brake lever on?

2. Is this the side you would prefer it to be on?

the bike is not steering to left very harshly just very slightly, what I meant to say is that when I hit the front brakes the wheel itself actually moves to the left ie if i am looking down on it, it moves off centre???

while I was trying to fit the new pedals i looked for any play but there was none??
