Hi guys, I got myself a spinning bike for home training (that's gonna be my only option soon because a baby's on it's way...).

I got some training DVDs (real life videos of popular training rides) but I found out that I can do a much better workout simply watching a movie ...

Any tips for visual supports that keeps you enternained and push you through the training session?

thanks for you feedback.

Dude/Dudet sorry to say but if you need DVD’s to help you do the training thing on a spinning bike then you will not have it for long and will sell it on the Hub soon. Stationary training is HARD!!!, And pushes self discipline to the extreme. I do my spinning training just as they do it in a spinning class; I get myself some up beat music and work out a routine as if I am teaching a class. I vary my training with climbs and sprints, log climbs out the saddle etc, you will need a fan blown on you to help you cool down. If you decide to do a 1 hour base like training ride at a specific HR then you can watch a dvd. I will not do that for it can soon throw a spanner in your self discipline works.

Generally I find it best to watch a series instead of one movie, which series depends on your preference.

TBH I hardly ever watch cycling related material, find it boring LOL...

I don’t find it difficult to concentrate on training and watching a dvd as I use a set of earphones so it is easy to follow the story while watching the cycling computer / HRM / Power parameters. I have a small portable dvd player which balances on the TT bars of my spinning bike or stands on a stand in front of my real bike when on the IDT.

Currently just finished watching Band of Brothers and now busy watching Rome and Heroes.

James Bond intervals - get a stack of the dvd's on 7 day rental. Do an interval every time bond scores or there is an action scene. You will be poked half way through the film :P
