Due to illness I cannot ride in this weekend's 24 hours of Oak Valley event. I wanted to give my entry to someone who can ride, but was told by Dirtopia that they don't allow substitutions! Can someone please explain the logic here. Advendurance, PPA, The Argus, Dryland, Ecobound and I am sure many more all accept substitutions, mostly at a fee.

Unfortunately it seems Dirtopia believes in FIFO when it comes to their rules. With the ATTA, a much nicer organised race, it was no problem for Carel and them. They wanted to help! Has the illness got anything to do with the unplanned dismount suffered last week?

This is odd, the pre entry website was full of notices sying it would cost R50, but that was up until the 24th... BUMMER though.

They've had this policy for a while and don't budge, take it or leave it i suppose. (it's just too hard to say a nasty thing about meurant or arina)

Wish it was just that - pain can be managed. Kids brought home a nasty strain of some summer cold after the first week of schools; must have caught it as well.

But I'll see you on Sunday for the Boeckaert Soenen.

You must please start sharing some of your wonder herbs with your fellow MTB'ers! Don't know where you get all the energy from. Thanks for the support for Sunday!!!!
