Are these Gobi's all the XM version? Ive been riding my old style Gobi for more than 4 years on my hardtail MTB, and on a tandem, and it is still 100%

I bought my gobi second hand about 4 years ago, and still nothing wrong. I do about 15 hours a week on it. But yes its also the old model.

I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with the agent asking you for PoP.

Do you also think there is absolutely nothing wrong with denying that there is an obvious design fault and NOT doing a public free exchange offer?

Did anything in my post hint that I did?

Why's that Tumbleweed? It's clear to see it's a Fizik, it's clear to see it broke. It's not meant to break. On most I presume you'll be able to see it was not a case of the saddle being abused.

Esp if you see several breakages on the same spot?! C'mooon...

(Oh btw, I don't ride a Fizik.)

There's Internet buying and sources of grey products for one. Why should the local agent carry the reponsibility for stock it may or may not have supplied? If it was specced on a brand new bike, I'm sure you would've kept the receipt for a large purchase, no?

Check your warrantee. That's assuming you read it.

Please tell me in what business do are doing any selling, so I can make sure to never buy any product from you, just in case I don't read the "fine print" in the warrantee.

You still have not answered a perfectly easy question ...

You continue defending a distributer/manufacturer here without giving any merits to the concerns of the cunsumers who had to fork out a lot of money buying its products, only to see the design is crap and breaks everywhere !

Do your posts need to be that agressive?

Firstly, most regular hubbers know what I do for a living.

Secondly, I wouldn't want you as a customer if I was in retail.

Thirdly, I can't properly understand your first sentence, but it's lack of grammar suggests you wouldn't be able be understand the fine print anyway. I will humour your request depsite this. Consumer law requires prudence of the part of the consumer for a warrantee to be honoured, hence my post about the PoP. I am not defending the agent/distributor, merely his right to demand of you the PoP.

No, you just stubbornly refuses to acknowledge the rights of the consumer. I wonder if a bike shop or distributor would publicly state, as you do, that they don't want someone as customer because the customer demand his rights as consumer.

looks like you not happy with the crack you got. Not sure if there are agents here and pretty sure you won't find them on google. Pretty addictive stuff by the sound of all the posts above. I hope you manage to sort it out.

I said: "if I was in detail". Since you're not seeming to let this one go, here goes: One of the things I do for my current employer is act as the liaison to the consumer columnist of the media group I work for. She's won numerous awards for just that, and I trust the knowledge I have gleaned from my time working with her.

Do you even know your rights as a consumer? Do you understand consumer law? Have you heard of the Consumer Protection Act that comes into power on April?

I'll answer for you: No, you don't.

So don't pick fights with leading questions if it's patently clear you don't know what you are talking about.

Response from agents:

Hi Rob

Thank you for the info. We have replaced a couple of units thus far, according to Fizik protocol. When a unit cracks, the consumer is to take the unit back to the store where the bike or unit was purchased from, with original POP, and we will process the claim.

We are aware that some bike dealers, will want to rather sell the consumer another product, but this is generally not the case.

It is unfortunate that some clients were told that they would not receive a claim, but then again some consumers expect a life time warranty.

Regards

Anthony

Hi Rob

Do you know what the agents response is regarding the material/vinyl that keeps lifting on the saddle ?

They have re-glued mine through the LBS that i bought it from, however i am not entirely satisfied with there glueing approach.By re-glueing the saddle they acknowledge that there is a problem with the saddle.

It's a pity,i still regard the gobi as the best MTB saddle.
