R3200, is still a good price for a new 705 bundle ?

It depends on whether or not it comes with maps and also what the Edge 800 with the same map options and accessories goes for.

I dont think you will find a new 705 full bundle with maps for R3200, maps alone are about R800.

Garmin Concept Store - where's that?

They are located next to Avnic in Honeydew, impressive assortment and range of GPS's but quite pricey for most items.

LOL no harm done. I just felt like rattling a cage.

Here is the change list for this version(differences from 3.6.0.6):

* Beta application is now localized into all languages previously supported by GTC 3.5.3

* Workout schedule date should now be correct on watch for all timezones including +13

* Application now selects most recent user activity at startup(can be disabled in case of a crash when selecting the most recent item)

* Corrected issue when computing average speed for laps with pauses

* Fixed some issues related to GTC course export

* Time in zones now populated correctly for laps

* Fixed issue where GTC 3.6.0.6 beta would compress graphs for lap tracks

* Corrected computation of average pace based on review of how it was done in previous GTC versions, it should now more closely match what one would expect the value to be based on distance and time

* Fixed issue in map drawing so selected item will be shown at higher zoom levels

* Added ability to select FIT or GPX files from “Import All” menu

3.6.0.6 Beta Change History

1. GTC again generates aggregate average & max statistics for all folder and week elements.

2. GTC provides the ability to explicitly set the first day of the week. This setting changes all calendar related elements including activity week grouping and the Activity/Workout Calendars.

3. “Imported “ folders and “Example Workout” folder are now deletable.

4. GTC now also allows users to directly import Workout and Course fit files from the File->Import menu in addition to Activities.

5. Fixed an issue that could cause the distance of the graph to be different from the distance shown in the totals with certain user data.

6. Fixed an issue where we would fail trying to generate a graph for certain user data that lacked distance in the trackpoints.

7. Fixed issue where GTC would generate bogus tick marks on the graph for certain user data.

8. Fixed issue where week notes would not import properly from TCX files.

9. Fixed performance problem when switching users on the AddDevice dialog.

10. Fixed various activity import issues.

11. Changed GTC to more gracefully handle certain bad fit files generated by the current public firmware for the Edge 800.

12. Fixed issue where GTC would fail to import certain FIT files that had manufacturer ids above a certain range.

3.6.0.5 Beta Change History

Here is the change list for this version:

1. GTC no longer uses legacy “bin files” as its data storage format, and is now using a more reliable open-source embedded database. Note: GTC no longer stores its application data in the “All Users Program Data Path”, but is now in the current user's app data path “C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\TrainingCenter\UserData” in Windows Vista/7

2. GTC has been re-engineered to scale better for larger user data sets.

3. GTC provides the ability to convert existing legacy user bin file accounts. A user can automatically migrate old users to new user accounts on a 1-1 basis or merge multiple legacy accounts into a single new user file. This feature was designed to be robust so that it will attempt to recover any valid legacy data even from “corrupted bin files” that were not accessible from GTC 3.5.3 and earlier.

4. GTC now supports Power workout creation/editing

5. GTC now supports Repeat Step targets other than step count in support of newer devices that provide this feature(Repeat Until).

6. GTC now supports Power Zones and Bikes in the User Profile

7. GTC now supports auto-error reporting like more current Garmin Windows applications

8. GTC can now properly sync user profile with FIT mass storage devices such as the Edge 500/800 & Forerunner 110/210.

9. GTC no longer has a rigid folder structure where top level folders force a sport type on the folder's sub-elements. User's can create sub-folders and mix elements in any manner they desire regardless of the sport type of the activity or workout. The only provided “System Folders” are “My “ and “Imported “ where is Activities, Workouts, or Courses, and a folder with the default “Example Workouts”.

10. GTC will allow the user to directly import Activity Fit Files from the Import->History menu.

11. GTC provides the user with the ability to change the sport type on activities and workouts since this can no longer be accomplished by moving an activity between Sport specific folders.

12. While GTC will not bring in multiple copies of the same activity to “My Activities” when doing a receive from device, the application also no longer requires that activities have a unique start time. Thus, a user may have an activity that was imported from a TCX file in “Imported Activities” that duplicates an activity brought over from the device in “My Activities”.

Sorry, that would have been my fault

But as you say, not much interest in the official software..... well I am kinda interested, just that it doesn't work on my laptop

Would have loved to have downloaded the 2.1 but I see the link has expired :( Dunno if it would have worked for my Edge 800 though anyways

Very accurate and thus not essential, the Gps does the job just fine!

I dont use the speed sensor on any of my bikes, only cadence.

Thanks Tank.

A few folk have said not to worry with the speed sensor.

But I am super happy with Sportstrack. I am going to buy the full program. Looks really worth it.

Do you use the weather plug in at all ?

And is the equipment plugin in worth getting ?

No I dont use the weather plug in, I get up, look out the window and decide if I need to wear the booties, gloves and wind jammer ;)

I love the Equipment plug in, I can tell you how many hours/km I have on each bike, groupeset, wheelset, tire, chain, cassette etc. Worth it!

Are you using 2.1 or 3 - I have the equipment plug in for 2.1 if you want it?
