I have finally given up :D

My tyres were pretty stuffed after Route 69 so though I would toss them and fit the set of Ralphs I had.

The only way I think these things will mount is with a crowbar :( I just can't get them to fit

They are the 2.1 UST's anyone managed to get these onto Crest rims and if so how ?

I had Hutchinson Cobras Tubeless Lights on before and they mounted ok.

Just went and bought a set of Conti 2.2 Ust Race/mount combo and they fit bit harder to mount than the Hutchinsons.. but the Ralphs dont even come close :( :(

Are you using the tape and valve method or a rimstrip ?

Should be easy with tape and valve, but I had rim strips on my 355 rims and struggled to get tubeless ready tyres on, turned out that the rim was built-up with lots op insulation tape under the strip so there was no real space for the bead to fit under the rim groove. So check that out.

Otherwise look at the ERTO dimensions - some tyre/rims are just not a good match

Tape and valve

I have accepted that those tyres are just not going to fit on the the Crest which is a pity as I wanted to compare them to the Cobra's.

Also had a bit of an experience fitting my new Specialized Renegade Controls 2Bliss on American Classic 26" tubeless rims. Had Race Kings on, and they were fine putting on and removing, but the Spez tyres were hard to fit (4 broken tyre levers), but once I had them on, they were really a tight fit and seated well. Inflated them with a floor pump without any hassles. Lubricate both rim and tyre with soapy water and use strong tyre levers!

I am thinking of changing from the UST's to the protection versions of the race/mountain king any comments on how the protections shape up as its a nice weight saving over the UST's
