  1. False alarm, I did indeed get my 3000 points, just a pity it was for the date of the START of the race, and not the finish
  2. There must be an entire lost-and-found bucket, full of senses of humours - all found by some innocent supporter, from that last section. I know that the trail-builder wasn't given much time for the trail refinement, but it felt like a lawnmower had been taken over a "mountain", and we called it a trail... I was about middle of the pack - never saw a single rider ON their bike - but heard LOADS of beautiful language
  3. Can anyone verify the latest Vitality stinker that was just posted on Facebook - that many of us won't be issued the ultra-distance 3000 points for a 260km Cullinan to Tonteldoos ride - because we entered as part of a team, and they don't reward team events??
  4. If you have a Garmin - whatever you do - DO NOT de-link and re-link. There is (was?) an issue where the de-link happens in your side, but nit in their back-end system. It took me nearly three weeks, endless stress, time and phone-calls before we eventually managed to get enough frustration on social media for them to allocate a devices expert to de-link it and delete it in their back-end system so that the whole thing could be relinked. According to Garmin - both sets of developers and technical experts are working on a "permanent" solution.
  5. To the people who have done this before... I understand there is a LOT of climbing in the race - but how "technical" is this climbing? Breedt's solidly kicked my butt yesterday from a rocks and gravel perspective (and yes - I only made it up the short slope - didn't even TRY the long slope) - so an now concerned that if I am doing that for the lat 100km - I am definitely out of my league!
  6. According to the poor "mushroom" customer services consultant that I just spoke to on the phone, they are aware of an issue with garmin, it has been escalated and there is no ETA for a permanent fix. She recommended sending a mail through once a week with my workouts until the authorisation error has been fixed. GRRRRR
  7. So, is anyone else STILL having problems with Garmin sync to Vitality? I was at the beginning of the year - had to delink my watch and relink, and now it seems only 1 in 3 or 4 workouts actually sync successfully. Thinking i was being clever today, I tried the unlink trick again... FAIL! There seems to be some other random issue and I can't relink it at all. Of course, in typical customer centric approach - the query I logged "is important", which is why they commit to getting back to me in 3-5 working days.
  8. This looks pretty cool - logistical challenge is getting back to the car!
  9. Can you confirm if it's starting in June or July? I think there's a date error
  10. not sure if you have had a reply yet - but I had exactly the same issue (literally only from this morning). Discovery called me - they said I needed to remove the vitality permissions from Garmin connect: Steps to get permissions GarminConnect: Log in to Garmin Connect. Select profile icon. Select ‘Settings”. Click on ‘Account information’. Permission are listed at the bottom of the screen. Click on the option to switch permissions offRe-link through the vitality app / web page. A bit of a pain, but I did it - and it seems to have worked, but for how long, no-one can be sure!
  11. Hi all. Selling my 2015 Pyga OneTwenty (small) - price R35k, negotiable. Advert is in the classifieds section of this site, under dual-sus MTB. She's a beauty, just a little aggressive on the downhills for me. I'm hating having to sell, but she deserves to be with someone who uses her to full potential Cheers, Dawn 0832850999
