Or why not just lengthen the handle of a shovel with the right shaped 'mouth'?

You need to try find a farming/agriculture supply store, they will have what you are looking for. It's more of an farm tool than a gardening tool which is why hardware stores and nurseries won't keep them.
  3. Awesome event guys! Can't wait for the next one
  4. Hahahaha... I got a similar tan as well as a very sore shoulder from my endo after crossing the finish line on stage 2 - the ego is healing slower than the shoulder though
  5. Thanks Grebel, looking into some second hand options at the moment as well.
  6. Fantastic, I thought it was the '09 but wasn't sure and couldn't find the complaints I read
  7. For sure, but not in my price bracket sadly - I'm open to suggestions in the ball park of R15k
  8. Hey guys... about to buy a new bike when insurance comes to the party eventually... Wanna get into some Enduro riding, some All Mountain and still be able to do the usual XC with my current riding buddies - at least until i'm cool enough to roll with the bad boys and their squishy long travel forks Anyway, thoughts on this... I feel like I read somewhere that there were problems with the swing arms cracking - anyone heard that?
  9. I had the exact opposite with Momentum, they insured my bike as a motorbike and so I had to pay for third party insurance... Conversation went something like this... Momentum: You have to take third party insurance for a motorbike on this policy Me: But it's not a motorbike, it's a bicycle Momentum: No it's a motorbike Me: Well I don't want to insure a motorbike, I want to insure a bicycle Momentum: Well you still need to take third party insurance Me: That's so that if I crash into someone on the street their medical bills will be covered right? Momentum: Yes Me: Well I don't think I would ever be able to cause 1 million rand in damages with a bicycle Momentum: <Silence> Me: Nevermind... <Hang up>
  10. ...make sure your insurance is covering you for EXACTLY what you asked for even if you were very specific in the beginning, apparently they have no obligation to inform you of changes to your policy other than a small footnote in the terms and conditions of your annual policy letter. I was very specific with my insurance company (on the advice and multiple posts on the hub about getting the right insurance cover). I specified cover during races, while transporting the bike on the back of a car or locked inside a car etc. the least of my worries was while the bike was on my property. Supposedly all was in order until I actually needed it the other day when my gate was forced off the rails and my bike was stolen out of my garage. Turns out that the insurance gradually changed over the years to basically move from all-risks to (what I would call) household goods cover - even though it was still classified as all-risk cover. Basically, because my bike was not locked inside the main building and unattended they will not cover it. My gate being removed from the rails is not sufficient evidence of forced entry, they had to force the door to the building open as well for it to be accepted as a forced entry. So please all of you do yourself a favour and ask your insurance company exactly what they will or will not cover with regards to your bike and ask the same question every year to make sure you don't become a statistic like me and fall victim to slight amendments in the wording of the clauses.
  11. Sorry Tumbles, I just couldn't resist posting this. I was going to start a new thread for it but decided I would just post it in your existing thread...
  12. 2 pages of comments and not one is about the hair styles or fashion of the time - Bwahahahaaa... Love it!
  13. Very nice guys... but I just couldn't resist calling facepalm on it
  14. Totally agree, I've had a pair of Endura Baggies for 2 years now and they are still in perfect condition despite using the them at least 3 times a week. It's becoming a problem because I want another pair but they just won't quit and the liner is also in perfect condition after many miles while my bib is stuffed. I love them so much I even hike with them now because of the convenient map pockets but don't tell anyone
  15. Not an epic riding video, but quite a cool description of Enduro...
