  7. Hi All, i thought i would keep everyone up to speed with one of the latest trends in the cycling world and now through the winter months is one of the best times to jump on the wagon. I have been doing pilates through the summer months and my stability on the bike is absolutely incredible now after these pilates sessions, again it does depend on the trainer but private classes and not those offered in the gym are awesome to keep you up to speed. I am currently in Durban and pilates is offered everyday barring the weekends by my instructor and she really does plan a good session. It helps with recovery after hard sessions, definately improves flexibility and most importantly builds your core where most of your power gets lost on the bike through absorbtion with a weak core. Go on give it a try. From as little as R50 a session.
  8. In Joburg contact Richard of Cycle Fit ie, richard@cyclefit.co.za and in Durban contact Clayton ie clayton@cyclingcoach.co.za
  9. The lateral stiffnes would be comprised mainly due to the non bladed spokes being replaced by straight gauge spokes, this can and will be counteracted if building 3 cross whereas the normal spoke pattern is 2 cross and radial, as well as the bigger flange diameter. the powertap Sl comes in a 20 hole version so no reason why it shouldnt work. You may want to double check the spoke length on that other post but from my calculation it will be 287 and 285 mm for 3 cross.

  15. Hi Guys, i am a Durban based coach and am currently offering a proffesional bikefitting service. I offer advanced cleat alignment as far as shimming is concerned, if you are experiencing any knee pain, this is most likely due to cleat alignment not being correct. For a bike Setup i charge R400 and for cleat alignment is R180 including shims. Please do not hesitate to contact me. Clayton Blackler 083 227 0429.
  16. Hi Elvin, the knee pain comes from the foot angle not being flat and all shoes are made with no adjustment here. I do a proffesional bike setup service and am based in Durban this includes the shimming of shoes which creates a greater amount of power transfer as well as saving my clients thousands of rands on physio fees as well as all of them to date cancelling knee ops that were scheduled since having their feet measured and shoes shimmed accordingly. Next time you are in Durban be sure to contact me. Regards Clayton Blackler. 083 227 0429. You can also email me: clayton@cyclingcoach.co.za
