What a ride!!! started in 3A, goal was 3:40. Pushes it right from the start, by the time I got up Edinburo I had passed so many people I thought I was over cooking it. Hooked up behind @Matt all decked out with BikeHub kit on the blue route, I was giving it my all to keep up (story of my race) and when we climbed off the m3 I tried to take a turn up front but somehow dropped them. the rest of the race was basically me going full gas trying to hold onto groups. Just before chappies the legs gave me a “hey your pushing us” twinge. hit little chappies and could feel the onset so dialed it back a bit. had to dial it further back up suikebossie but then it was head down and full gas again to the finish. started my clock on the fun and did a 3:42, I am stoked.

But current predictions put the wind speeds down for tomorrow vs what it predicted yesterday but looks like the early starters will be having a tougher start until they turn at Smit’s winkel.

That’s what I have just done. Fortunately came prepared.

So wasted my money on a COVID test, they didn’t need it. Also wasted lots of energy walking from V&A to the stadium, got my number then wanted to get the bike and realized I left the bag with change of shoes in the car. Walked to the car, put number and bottle in and walked back to the stadium, only to realize I left the bag in the car again. So took the car and drove there the third time. got to the bike to find rear wheel still not holding air. ???? we pumped it there, heard it pop into place, but in the 2 hours since then it has lost some pressure again.

well freaken done man. Like has been said, you say you're only human, but the difference between me and you is that you have conquered it, I wont even attempt it.

Best time to ride

It does get rather rural out that side, that what makes it cool for cycling. back in the late 80's early 90s that was the cycling mecca, think of the cradle now on a sunday right now, but with steel frames, hairy legs and no helmets.

i hate sending the bike down in a box. the risk of scratching/bending is always high. Then you get there and you have to higher a vehicle that will take a bike in a box inside it.

I only suffered next to you for like 33 seconds, and then I could not keep up any longer. ???? This year the plan is to get up there a little easier. Basically not bonk before chappies this time around.

Giants can start anywhere they like, they are Giants and nobody messes with a Giant

I've got a pair of Ciovita Corsa 1.0, these are my long ride (3 hours or more) and race bibs. I prefer them to the Vye. To me, the Ciovita on special is a better buy. At normal prices the Vye is better.
