  1. The accentuated 'package' is particularly offensive and disturbing. Just imagine how sexy pasty Levi is going to look in the oh-so-flattering grey. Then again, grey is probably the most appropriate colour for mr personality.
  2. Come on, someone please tell me this is not fugly. Somehow convince me this is flattering.... Willehond2009-12-11 16:05:38
  3. Beautiful bike, but the blue is a bit team specific. I prefer the Caisse bikes. ...strangely I kinda like the Radioshack bikes in all their OTT splendour. Unlike the team kit.
  4. That's correct. To remove the 10sp link (called a Powerlock) you really do need a pair of pliers. I have remved and refitted my 10-speed link multiple times (on advice of my LBS mechanic) despite the dire warning on the package. Yes, I used pliers, but I am careful and they snap right back into place. If it aaint broke, don't replace it!
  5. I think it's better than that blerrie pin. There is more chance that the pin you install yourself fails than that the powerlink fails! As far as I know SRAM chains don't even come with a pin which should answer your question.
  6. Nope, just a normal carbon sole. Maye they don't work with Specialized?! It might also have something to do with the play and wearing my cleats too long when they are a bit worn. Nonetheless, if it had a metal contact area it wouldn't happen! PLus, being on the heavy sie doesn't hel my cause at all!
  7. Maybe you spend a lot less time riding than me! The problem is the wear on the pedal, not the cleat!
  8. I have KEO's and love them. HOWEVER, if you want pedals that last longer than a year rather get something durable like Shimano. I have gone through three pairs of Keo's because the contact area between shoe and cleat gets word down easily. Hopefully the new Keo 2's solve this problem, but I am a biot disappointed with the wear at this moment.
  9. Fatcyclist is a well known internet legend. Lance knows him quite well, so he is not quite the unknown guy. Thisx year he lost his wife to cancer and his normal humorous blog turned quite serious. Verry nice guy and very deserving!
  10. Thanks for your very personal story slowtwitch. Very sad to loose your father like that. My sincere condolences. I'm guessing that this has contributed to you giving up the road racing? Very understandable if it is so. Also sad that the guy did not get to face the charges, but I'm just glad you got such good support from the SAPS. I've also had some good experiences from some people there despite the doom and gloom stories. Strerkte
  11. GIRLFRIEND'S DAD'S FARM??? If she has any brothers you are screwed. If she doesn't marry her. Quick! Spent my primary school days in Graaff-Reinet and would love to go back there and ride that stunning terrain. Incredibly beautiful, but you have to stop to appreciate it. Don't rush it! I'm guessing tyre sealant is an absolute must with the thorns out there. Have to do this one day
  12. You can't, so then police it with hefty fines. Banning is not going to work
  13. Licensing is such a South African solution. Too much red tape, too much chance for corruption. So last century... Just educate the people; mail, internet, tv, radio campaigns, freaking posters, flyers and pidgeons if needed!!! Educate the kids at school so they know from day one. THEN: Police it properly. Police have to stop groups who transgress and fine them and temporarily confiscate their bikes. They will soon listen. Works in the rest of the world (not that SA problems can EVER be solved by something invented somewhere else of course! SA is SOOOO unique....not)
  14. Unless you can proove they did it, you are screwed. Not worth the costs to sue them, so just take your business elsewhere. Would you trust their work again? Don't bother with name and shame. They will just deny! My LBS also stripped my front derailleur clamp bolt, which I found out a couple of weeks later when it slipped, but I decided to just take it as my damage and move on. I have enough other crap in my life to suffer the small sht
  15. Ah, the pic is a bit blurry and I'm tired. Thought it was a bubble un der the tyre wall. Yes, bad tyre. DEMAND a replacement
  16. Hmmm, any chance you got some Stans/Slime/other sealant in those tyres? That sounds like another occurance of the dreaded sealant delamination...
  17. I hate it when people talk like this. Totally irrelevant. You get payed in euros' date=' not rands.[/quote'] Mampara I see you and others make this remarks and its utter bull sh!t. Yes he is probably paid in EURO But you with a good SA job will get 20.000 Rand. You guys think that the EURO guy gets 20.000 EURO no ways he is already well paid if after taxes he gets 2.000 a month. So if you convert he has probably a bit more but by far not enough to justify a price difference of almost 200% Cheers 20,000 Euros?! Where do I sign??? At least a race only costs me 3 or 4 euro's to enter. Mampara, hate is such a strong word. You shouldn't hate it, rather see it as information, digest it and then embrace it. Love it...
  18. Indeed. I just saw 6 age categories to enter for old men, but the Elites and under-23's have to race together! Clear where the focus is.
  19. Don't forget the 2010 World Cup. Kind of a big deal all over the world...
  20. I just renewed my Dutch racing licence. A cool R800 (73 Euros)...
  21. So, so sad. That used to be almost my daily training route. Just terrible news. My wife told me about it and she also mentioned that it could easily have been me (or any of my riding buddies.) Not that makes it any better, but it just hits close to home. My deepest condolences to his family.
  22. Remember that 'pot' is legal in Holland Hey, a pot is a ompletely different thing inHolland and I deffinitely won't be smoking one... Man, I tried to make sense of who was in the lead by looking at the results and never quite figured it out. I thought vulgar didn't havea great hill TT and then pops up in pink! You can't expect me to know EVERYTHING anymore can you? Guess my omnipotence isn't what it used to be..
  23. The one about Healthy Men is published by the same people who publish the one about Bicycling and Runners, so they all have the same 'light' and advertorial feel.
  24. I thought so, but I'm a bit far away, so I must have missed when the shirt passed from Andersons to Daikin-Gu. Congrats to vulgar!
