  1. Intense has been in trouble for some time. They even create a sub brand to move their product via Costco ( our equivalent of Makro)
  2. yeah but bring on 32 er yay nothing to see here
  3. as a Vitality member I pay R500 for Strava Premium per year. I get to spy on anyone and check how many Coldplay concerts they attend. The black mail money isn't worth it though because the 1km privacy radius makes it hard to tell exactly where the bike that doesn't exist is being stored. Garmin Connect is nice and serves it purpose but I can't find any propective DC teammates using Connect + so there's that... So Strava premium and Connect is fine to upload to Vitality
  4. those bikes crack regardless of fork length. You'll only bring it on faster. BUT its your bike and your choice
  5. Thats a great shop. I was a regular there when I lived in Chester. The owner stems from a line of track cyclists, They were the biggest Pinarello and Specialized dealer in the NW. When the concept store became a thing Dave had to slit the store down the middle to appease the Spaz Gods. You'll be happy to know that I bought a Dave QUinn Road bike from them when I lived there as well as a Principia. The Quinn cracked a few years after i moved back to SA and Dave warrantied the frame, no issues. HE sent me Pinarello Galileo to replace the Quinn. Good people in that shop
  6. Was that purchase from The Bike Factory run by Dave Quinn jnr?
  7. That bike will likely crack and fail with a fork as long as a 130mm travel. Too much leverage on the headtube. Some people run longer travel forks with more sag to make the fork more supple off the top. how heavy or light are you?
  8. No we just called it bread and Wine today we have breed and whine
  9. And according to YouTube “experts” he’s riding the crappest most draggy, heavy aero bike a lot of money can barely buy
  10. People who ordered and paid for a bike and are now in limbo can only wait and hope YT finds an investor because thats the only way they either ge their bike or some of the money back. But for now it’s all locked up tight under court order
  11. Flippen fun rider just missing a chainring tatoo to mske pro fun riders great again
  12. Because Pogacar
  13. Yellow is very popular in Germany so unlikely there’s be one on the showroom floor. Sold before they hit the tarmac
  14. Yeah so I can almost categorically state that there’s set up or maintenance issues here. Some forks are set up for more comfort out of the box which is something that can be rectified but there’s a trade off. I think in SA we’re “ marathon bevok” which influences how we want our suspension to feel over a cape epic or W2w stage. The compromises made for this often results in a heavy comfort bias which means a narrow optimal performance window. I run my fork quite a bit stiffer than most because I want the control and comfort at a higher speed for XCO. For XCM I will drop a few psi front and back (more sag) but I know the trade off is going to be running a lot further into the travel than ideal. small bump can be set up with the air spring volume and high speed compression tune but bigger hits will be not so good. we don’t need expensive forks for this, just good set up. If you want less of a trade off then upside down forks are the way to go but they come at a cost than is not returnable 2nd hand
  15. Even suspension I think is a bit of a red herring. Unless it’s a DH fork, the performance of forks less than 150mm of travel is not that different if set up properly. Most people have their forks set up too Slow in both rebound and compression and often too soft. The key difference with higher cost forks is the reduced unsprung weight which does impact small bump feel where the lighter the lowers the more sensitive the fork is to the terrain.
  16. The big problem with bicycles is that they are severely overvalued at first sale. The market correction takes place in the 2nd hand market. That’s true value. Okes who buy the latest and greatest drive retail prices up and that gap between retail and true value only keeps increasing. of your bike is well Looked after then why not keep it. Why sell it? You’re only adding to the inflation
  17. Zero to nothing on Thursday
  18. So awesome To see a Cannondale back in yellow on Wednesday. Special edition coming up
  19. There’s always going to be ambiguity. there will always be outcry from fans . This is the way
  20. It was allowed, then it got abused . Now you’re allowed to stay behind a car but for a limited time then you have pop out and feel the wind. But again the sticky bottle, stuck Allen key , team car engine in limp mode excuses make a regular appearance
  21. the 32cm width measurement error in that it was intended to be CtC is not a big change. I'd be interested in discussing what would improve safety while not losing the essence of the tour. Removal of road furniture for a peloton that comes through within a matter of seconds isn't practical. They've tried reducing the number of teams, reducing the number of riders in a team now trialing gearings restrictions and what to enforce wider bars. All we see are the criticism of the proposed rules with no other solutions appearing on offer.
  22. And need for gesring restriction and wider bars receives wide spread criticism
