  1. Ok were on, looks like no rain!
  2. Ok, we are two people. Can I get an idea of how many people are coming?
  3. I'm in Vleesbaai, (MTB), fitness level is + average, keen for any interesting rides. Are you keen to do attekwas kloof?
  4. Do we meet at eight bells at 9h00? What do you think? I can take 3 bikes (mine + 2 more), on my Thule, I'm coming from vleesbaai, have not really sorted my driver. So I can pick up 2 people in mosselbay area. My inlaws will probably end up spending the day at bonniedale farm, braaing + 4x4. I'm keen for a social type ride, I'm medium fit, how serious are the other takers? We need to give the owners list of people, there are some permits involve , (part is nature conservation land). So how many people are we. 1. Me Andre
  5. This looks fantastic. Its obviously local, and somewhere in the Western Cape. Can anyone tell me where it is.
  6. There is a ride at Lebanon forest on the 12th of dec , if I'm correct. It was fantastic last year, some of the best single track I have ridden to date. We will definitely be back, it's a low key event organised by the amaroela chaps!
  7. Oak valley!
  8. Hi all, I recently read an article about the Tokai MTB Trail, the photos really didn't do it for me, so I thought I would contribute this one. taken along the top section on the way to the Silvermine boom, its a truly magnificent trail. Taken early on a winters morning with the sun coming up over the Hottentots Holland mountains.
  9. my bike, very clean after service..
  10. I can report back that they were R300.00 cheaper (about 20%) than anothere well known cycle establishent. Great service....
  11. I did the Franschhoek Lions/Porcupine MTB Challenge, yesterday on the brand new saddle, (3h47 minutes in the saddle), it was the first time on the saddle, and I did not feel any discomfort at all. It was unreal, it also did expect a bit of that run in pain that you have the first 10 minutes of a ride. So I can really recomend the FIZIK, GOBI, at R1600.00
  12. I got my first DS bike in October 2009, I really wanted the best I could afford. So I go at second hand frame with bits and pieces, (Spesialized Epic) (2008), fantastic bike, it has the brain suspension. Paid R10,000 + spent another R7, 000.00 on bits and pieces, and are now at about about R17, 000.00. Second hand is definately the way to get a great bike if you don't have R30, 000.00 lying around....andrecapetown2010-01-17 08:13:45
  13. km's per week.... Guys I meant a single ride of between 20 - 35km per week. I ended up buying the FIZIK, GOBI, at R1600.00, hope it was money well spent. I'm doing the 40km in Franschhoek tomorrow morning, I will report back on how my butt feels agfterwards!
  14. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I cycle about 20+ km per week, and my butt hurts like hell. My current seat is a ?standard spec one?; (I am building up a hopefully great bike around a Specialized Epic DS frame). I am upgrading components as I go along / as I have bucks to spend. Background I had my bike properly set up at the sports science institute in <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Cape Town, so its not my setup. Apparently my leg muscles are short, not sure if this is the correct term, but I find it hard to touch my toes. I have been cycling now for the past 3 months and my butt should have been fine by now. I want to get a new seat that works properly, I looked at MTB seats and saw the FIZI:K range, it was suggested I go for the GOBI-XM seat. At about R1, 500.00 Can anybody make suggestions to what I should go for? I am doing the Argus in two months plus and the Karoo to Coast in Oct.
