  1. Thanks to all on this forum, really helped me with the replacement. Replaced my battery on Friday afternoon, first had to get tools with a T5 Torx bit. I found one at a local cell phone repair shop and also bought glue from the same shop, T7000. The same they use to glue back cellphone screens. https://www.takealot.com/t-7000-professional-adhesive-black-glue-for-cellphone-lcd-repair/PLID90803750 Everything went really smoothly with the replacement, thinking in the back of my mind when is something going to go wrong. I used a carpet knife blade to slowly cut the foam holding the screen. The hardest part of the whole process is to get all the foam backing off from the screen and case without ruining it. The soldering of the battery was easy enough, used shrink tubing to close is up and protect it. I then placed the board back and screwed it back to make sure the attenna is still working and connecting and that the battery is actually working. The T7000 glue works really well, after applying and waiting to cure for a while I wiped the excess away with a alcohol wipe. I used a couple of rubber bands and a piece of paper folded a couple times to push the screen down and hold it in place for 48 hours for the glue to cure completely. I went for a 4 hour ride on Sunday, battery only dropped by 20%. I can confirm the device is waterproof after the replacement, forget to take it out of my jacket pocket and landed in the wash. Again thanks to everyone for the information to do this!
  2. Good day hubber I'm searching for a triple chainring front derailleur, no band, for a old road bike but I'm sure as everyone knows they are hard to find. I hope someone has one lying around and willing to sell. Thanks in advance. B

  5. The parcel should be around 300g to 500g and half the size of a shoe box. How exactly does Aramex Global Shopper work in term of signing up, payment and taxes?
  6. Thank you for the recommendation. Will enquire with Courier Guy.
  7. Morning Hubbers Looking for some advise on a purchase. I have a very old BuzzRack and is need of some new parts, rack is working 100% but is showing some signs of ware on the plastic wheel straps and a few other parts. I have been trying with the agents for BuzzRack in SA to source the parts but are unable to find for such a old rack. I really don't want to purchase a new rack just for the sake of not being able to replace a few worn parts adding up to +-R550 which are available for purchase in the UK. The online store RookBox.co.uk does not courier to SA, so my question is how do I get the parcel to SA without breaking the bank for courier fees? Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance.

  12. Hi hubbers, I'm looking for some guidance on cycling around Graaf-Reinet. Are we allowed to cycle in the Camdeboo National Park and Ganneleegte side heading toward the National Park, and safety wise anything that needs to be considered. Thanks in advance.

  14. Evening It seems like this thread is a good idea for the West Rand area for all to see and share danger areas to be alert or avoid all together. Post was shared from Facebook, not sure when the incident happened. Furthermore there has been a couple of incedents of stolen cellphones and head units at the corner of Luiperd and R28 in Krugersdorp (opposite McDonald's)
  15. There is a video doing the rounds on WhatsApp showing the new finish. Not sure on the accuracy of the video or the information. VID-20231107-WA0004.mp4
  16. Got some new rubber for the mountain bike today and had to go with tanwalls tires.
  17. I'm sure Cape Cycle systems should still have some in stock since they used to distribute the wheels. Please post a picture of the front hub and I can find out if they have stock. disc130_front_15mm_thru_axle_retrofit.pdf
