  1. Is that Crime Invasion Training???
  2. The pigs are useless here. Had to drive 35km to my folks place last night as the local police would not come out to my parents farm!!! There was a guy threatening my dad with a knife! Let 'em party, maybe they can get that right!
  3. As with anything you take in for repairs/replacement parts (cars, bikes etc) always check everything is tight and right before using/riding. Can save you some pain later. I agree with Cassie, try to do as much of the work yourself,....less headaches later. I have all but given up on my LBS.
  4. I think you already have a good idea with 'Off Rhodes'
  5. Cradle Resident, I don't think its fair to tar everyone with the same brush. As someone who lives nearby the area and has a vested interest in the tourist related businesses of the area, I hope all parties can come to an amicable agrement on the issues at hand. Prehaps a little understanding on both sides would go a long way to solving this issue. Neither party is going to get the upper hand here, no matter what is written.....
  6. Hi. Am looking at buying myself a new mountain bike. After almost 14 years of riding my Raleigh Aggressor, I think its time I treated myself to a new machine! Visited an ad on the forum for Solomons and they have a couple of nice looking Bianchi bikes for sale for under R5000. Are they any good? I am not a pro, just cycle for fun but the bike will take some abuse as I am over 100kg and ride nothing but dirt roads where I live. And if the beer doesn't get too much of a hold on me this year I may enter a few fun races Hopefully my next buy will match the Raleigh for reliability! Also, is it worth maybe stripping down my old bike, respray and fit new parts and give this to my girlfriend? Her current bike is crap and she struggles to enjoy the cycling because of this. Any input ? Thanks in advance.
  7. While I most certainly do not agree with the actions of the questionable driver of the car, one can understand his frustration. I too live in the area (fortunetly in Magaliesburg) and some days are intolerable due to cyclists. But to be fair it is the minority and not the majority who are offenders. I also mountain bike, have done for 14 years (and thankfully never have to touch tar unless I want to) but one thing that leaves me gob smacked is how many cyclists have attitude towards vehicles. One thing I am sure of when I am out cycling is that the car will always win the argument! Be safe, just take a quick look over your shoulder once in a while to see if there is anything behind you, be aware of what is happening around you. When the car behind you hoots, its often not because he is gunning for you, he just wants you to acknowledge the car before he moves to overtake, some cyclists wobble all over and no-one wants to hurt someone if they can help it. And to the people who drive the support vehicles driving behind the groups of cyclists, please remember some of us do live here and have work to do in the area, check your rearview and if you can let us pass please!!Mojoman2010-01-15 04:18:46
