never had a issue with false reporting.. very good infact My wife's school had a system like that, kept going on the fritz, gave false warnings when it worked, etc. they moved over to the app

we have weatherbug app on android which has a lighting warning section, which also gives you a live lighting map. my wife is a teacher in so they need a reliable lighting warning system and this is what they use.

Yeah I can foresee that rise again in Piracy that the likes of Netflix help reduced, as it made it easier to stream content, but if I have to pay 3x as much for netflix, I'll just add bigger drives to my media server instead.

If you going to use it as a TV.. get a TV, looking at prices R2k Pc monitor is About 24 inch vs R2k TV been about 32 Inch, you get way more real estate for your money with TV's and if I'm reading it correctly more than 1 of you, having a bigger screen means you can be more comfortable. and adding a few rands for a licence you pay for once.. not a biggie.

cant answer 1, but for 2, yes, aslong as you have HDMI compatible, not an Issue, I'm Using an old PC screen on my XBox, with a HDMI to DVI converter as the screen only has DVI or VGA, works like a charm. also frees up my TV, so we can all be socially anti-social
